Best puppy in show at our B Match for our club!
Here at Indica Kennels we pride ourselves in showing and one day producing genetically sound dogs as well as beautiful representations of the breed. We go for only the best! Health in our breed is of the utmost importance, some of the health concerns affecting our breed are: Genetic heart disease, hip displaysia, Cerebellar Ataxia and thyroid concerns (with a long list of others). I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a cardiologist OFA cardiac your dog- not your regular vet. There is nothing wrong with your vet, however they have not specialized in heart and very frequently miss heart murmurs.
We are a very small hobby breeder, in fact we have not produced a litter as of yet... though we are working on that! Hope to change this soon!
All my AKC dogs are or will be dual registered, unless it is specifically arranged by a breeder ahead of time that they wish me not to. I do not believe in AKC exclusive and quite frankly I think it is dishonoring where the breed came from. In addition, ANY opportunity to inform the public that your super friendly dog is yes, in fact a pit bull is an opportunity to educate and not one to pass up.
When you choose to own this breed, you should be a more responsible dog owner than most and you should be able to accept a higher level of responsibility. I have done extensive research on the history of pit bulls along with having over 10 years of experience with the breed. Lack of education and lack of responsible ownership will be the demise of this all american breed.
